About Our Retreats

The RACHEL'S PEACE team has facilitated over 30 retreats in Northern Illinois since 1999.  In 2002 we adopted the interdenominational version of RACHEL'S VINEYARD.  We schedule our weekends twice a year at the STRONGHOLD Retreat and Conference Center, a lovely secluded campus overlooking the Rock River near historic Oregon, IL.  This location provides privacy for participants that is not always available at other retreat centers.

The weekend is based in Christian scriptures with quiet guided visualizations after each reading that enables participants to personalize the scriptures.  The readings and spiritual exercises gently move participants through the grieving process.  There is time for sharing in the small group of 10-12, but no one is pressured to talk.  Our weekend is an invitation to move forward on a healing journey for anyone who has been wounded by abortion.  It is neither critical nor judgmental and confidentiality is strictly observed.
